UCI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2015 - ANDORRA

Vallnord, Andorra- Sept 1-6, 2015 - Final race of the International calendar went high into the Pyrenees Mountains, down steep, technical terrain of the Andorran landscape. With a bit of nasty weather all week, the course had a few challenges with traction, but it was the relenting grade and length that were the hardest feat. At over five and a half minutes for the ladies, this was an incredible test of strength and will. For Jill Kintner, coming off a nearly flawless season, she was up for the challenge, riding well, but had a few unlucky bounces, taking her off track in the final run.

JILL KINTNER

"I was really looking forward to the opportunity to compete against the best riders in the World, and see what I could do. It was tough week up there in Andorra, just relentless rain on such a steep track, plus a pretty crazy practice schedule starting at sunrise most days, but I did the best I could, was ready, and was on a good run till a mistake in my race run kinda changed the mood. My front wheel pinged off a rock and I got redirected off the side of the track about half way in. It was kinda over after that, but I figured I wasn't really muddy enough and went down again in the slipperiest bit. It's all or nothing sometimes. Either way, I felt like I was riding good, had fun, and it was an honor to once again be a part of Team USA. Big thanks to all involved."
